"The touch of the pages and cover of a book, the smell of paper in a bookstore. A silent universe yet full of words. Bookstores and the publishing world have always been a refuge for me, where I allow myself to connect with all my senses and my creativity. Illustrating book and magazine covers, as well as their interiors, bringing articles and news to life, are some of my most thrilling activities."
'QUE LA CORRIENTE ME ARRASTRE'
For this project, I was hired by the renowned writer, journalist, and film critic Milagros Amondaray to illustrate the cover of her new book "Let the Current Carry Me," inspired by Luca Guadagnino's acclaimed film "Call me by your name."
My creative approach was based on a Baroque style, aiming to capture the subtle and delicate essence of the work. I merged the theme of love with the lushness of nature, evoking the atmosphere of a spring afternoon.
'LOVE IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC' - DOT PARKER MAGAZINE.
For this project, I was commissioned by Dot Parker magazine to illustrate the cover of that edition. It was during the height of the Covid pandemic, and I decided to contemplate love during those challenging times. I thought about the love of an older couple: the nostalgia it evokes, all the moments they would have shared together, and yet still finding joy in an evening, sharing a glass of wine on the balcony of some remote city.
'MARADONA' - DOT PARKER MAGAZINE.
Once again, I was summoned by Dot Parker magazine for a project. Though the original concept was entirely different, amidst our work, news of the passing of football legend Diego Maradona emerged. While for many around the world it might have been just another day, for Argentina and Naples, it meant the loss of a beloved icon—almost a deity—whose departure deeply resonated with citizens.
It became imperative to center the cover edition of the magazine around him during that time. I envisioned a city, Naples in Italy, completely shaken by the news. I thought of its altars, its tributes, in every nook and cranny, and in the subtle details that evoke the presence of this popular idol.
'MAMÁ, QUIERO LEERTE.'
I was hired to develop the visual identity, design the book cover, and take care of the editorial design of its content for the book written by Luciana Perez. This psychology book invites reflection on our relationship with our mothers. It is presented in a dynamic format of questions and answers, full of interactions. In my creative approach, I aimed to create a naive and delicate image, addressing this often difficult-to-discuss topic in a different way
'DEMOSLE UN BUEN FINAL A ESTA HISTORIA'.
For this project, I was once again commissioned by the writer, journalist, and film critic, Milagros Amondaray, to illustrate the cover of her book 'Let's Give This Story a Good Ending,' inspired by the film 'Silver Linings Playbook' by David O. Russell.
I created an illustration where love was present, as well as lights and shadows.
